Maximierung der Verwendung von Holz im Bauwesen als Beitrag zu Netto-Null – das Forschungsprojekt «MainWood»

In November 2023, researchers of MainWood have published an article in the Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Forstwesen. The article is written in German, but this is the translated abstract:

The increased use of wood as a building material in long-lasting buildings and the substitution of greenhouse gas-intensive building materials such as steel and concrete with wood products can make an effective contribution to mitigating climate change. The “MainWood” project aims to research the necessary technological developments and demonstrate the ecological, economic, technical, social and political consequences of a possible contribution of the wood value chain to achieving the Federal Council’s 2050 net zero targets.
